“Let me go down as any doe
That nods upon its ferny bed,
And, lulled to slumber by the flow
Of talking water, the muffled brawl
Of far cascading waterfall,
At last lets down its weary head
Deep in the brookmints in the glen;
And under the starry-candled sky,
With never the shadow of a sigh,
Gives its worn body back to earth again.

The abandoned house shuddered on the hill. Wind whistled through the trees with the laughter of children who once lived there. Inside … sections of ceiling lay limp in the stale air. Fragments of plaster lie damp on the well trodden floor. Window frames rotten and blistered , nursing mildew and rising up wallpapers that peel. All around are the artifacts of a life lived and hastily abandoned, mattresses, dolls, sepia photographs...
How long has it been since the fragrant smell of a Sunday dinner ? … if there ever was one.
I have recently re-tooled my primary shooting set-up. I jettisoned my beloved Fuji X T1, XF 10-22mm, XF 18mm, & recently acquired XF 35mm WR. I have replaced all of that with the newly released X T2, XF 16mm 1.4 and the ubiquitous "kit lens" 18-55mm.
